Fire Dragon
Italy, on Aug 18, 2003

Many rainstorms in north Italy, so there were not many opportunities. This time I got by camera this at 6PM.
Compare this writhing Fire Dragon to the photo taken on August 9, and August 13, same photographer, same location. The vertical flare has decreased as the dust cloud has wrapped around on all sides and grown larger, diffusing the light from the dual suns. This diffusion can be seen also in the relative whiteness of the Sun, over this short time period.
