Occulting Sun
New Zealand, on July 28, 2003

Hewlett Packard Photosmart 935 digital camera. I used the sun's light to set the white balance. Photo 1 was taken to the left of the Sun. Photo 2 was taken to the right of the Sun. Note that all the lens flares moved over to the right hand side of the sun. The light pillar between 5 and 11 o'clock did not move.
Note that the lens flares to the left and right are not even. The flare to the right is modest, when the camera is on the left. But the flare on the left is large, when the camera is on the right! This implies a body on the left hand side of the Sun.
